Election of the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration of the City of Idar-Oberstein
Announcement of the election period, the polling station and voting for the election of the Advisory Council for Migration and Integration of the City of Idar-Oberstein
I.
The election for the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration will take place on Sunday, November 10, 2024. The election lasts from 13:00 to 18:00.
II.
Eligible voters can only vote in the polling station in whose electoral roll they are entered. The polling district and polling station (Idar-Oberstein City Council, Foyer, Georg-Maus-Straße 1, 55743 Idar-Oberstein) are indicated on the polling card. You should bring your polling card with you to the election and have proof of identity ready.
III.
The election to the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration is carried out in accordance with the principles of majority voting on the basis of approved nominations.
An official ballot paper is provided on which all candidates are listed.
It is selected in accordance with the following principles:
- Voters have as many votes as there are members of the Advisory Board for Migration and Integration to be elected.
- Voters cast their votes by ticking or otherwise clearly marking the candidates listed on the ballot paper whom they wish to vote for.
- Voters can also cross out candidate names on the ballot paper.
- The vote is invalid if more than 10 votes are cast.
IV.
Voters fold the ballot paper in the polling booth in such a way that other people cannot see how they have voted and place the ballot paper in the ballot box as soon as the election supervisor allows this.
V.
Eligible voters who do not wish to vote in their polling station can still apply for a polling card and postal voting documents until Friday, November 8, 2024, 6 p.m. In the event of a verifiable sudden illness that makes it impossible or unreasonably difficult to go to the polling station, the application can still be submitted until 3 p.m. on election day. This application deadline also applies to eligible voters who, through no fault of their own, have neither been added to the voters' register nor received a polling card ex officio.
VI.
The ballot letter can be sent to the place indicated on the ballot letter envelope or handed in there by November 10, 2024, 6:00 p.m. at the latest; it can also be handed in to the electoral board in the specified polling station on November 10, 2024, by 6:00 p.m. at the latest.
VII.
Anyone who is entered in the electoral roll may take part in the election. In case of doubt, voters must provide proof of their identity. Anyone who has a polling card can only participate in the election by postal vote.
VIII.
The election procedure and the determination of the election result are public.
The election results of the ballot box and postal vote will be determined and established on election Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. in the foyer of the Idar-Oberstein city administration, Georg-Maus-Straße 1, 55743 Idar-Oberstein.
