Citymood network meeting planned for the summer

The economic development team, Caroline Pehlke and Sarah Wagner, together with city manager Lara Paulus, reported on the events of the past year and presented the Citymood program for 2025. The summary of the events so far is more than positive. All events were well to very well attended, which clearly shows that there is great interest in events in the city centers. "Against this backdrop, planning the events for this year is even more fun," says Sarah Wagner, describing her anticipation of the upcoming open-air season. So there will be plenty going on in the two centers in 2025 too!

The following events have already been planned with the support of Citymood, in cooperation with the Idar-Oberstein City Marketing Association and other sponsors: Four after-work events, several concerts, family events, the classic car meeting, the St. Martin's parade and the Advent glow are just a few examples. The dates for the after-work events have already been set: May 8, June 5, July 3 and September 4. The classic car meeting and drive is also already scheduled for August 17 - so "Save the Date" - enter the dates, encourage friends to come along and look forward to great events.

In addition, further cleaning and beautification work is planned under the funding program, among other things, to improve the quality of stay and experience.

Unfortunately, the federal program Zukunftsfähige Innenstädte und Zentren ends in November 2025, which is why the economic development team is working intensively on the question of how the project can be made sustainable for the city. "Because one thing is clear, the campaigns and the commitment must not end with the funding program," says Caroline Pehlke, describing the further plans. As the municipal budget does not allow for the financial measures as in the funding program, it will be necessary in future to rely more on players in the city marketing association and sponsoring, but also to examine in parallel whether new funding programs for the activation of inner cities will be launched by the federal or state governments.

The city marketing association, which is currently mainly involved in managing the city voucher, is to become more active again, particularly with regard to events and other city center activities. Additional players and new association members are always welcome. The main aim is to spread the organization of events across a broader range of people.
