Subject to weather conditions, the extension work on Tiefensteiner Straße between Weiherschleife and the Grimm retirement home will begin on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. The road and sidewalks will be extended over a length of around 440 meters and the street lighting and supply systems for water, sewer, gas, electricity and telecommunications will be renewed or renovated.
The expansion section is divided into three sections. The first section, which is around 190 meters long, runs from the Weiherschleife to just before house number 145. In this section, Landesbetrieb Mobilität is also renovating the bridge structure at the level of the "Weiherschlösschen". The Weiherschleife parking lot can still be accessed. The second construction section, which is around 125 meters long, runs from house number 145 to the junction between the Barth & Frey car dealership and house number 157. The third section, which is also around 125 meters long, then runs from there to the Grimm retirement home at Tiefensteiner Straße 171.
The respective construction section will be fully closed to through traffic. The first and second sections will be expanded in 2025. The full closure will be lifted during the winter of 2025/2026. The expansion of the third section will then take place from spring 2026 with a full closure again. Due to the closure of the B422, a large-scale detour of road traffic, including public transport, is necessary. The final planning of the extensive detour signs is currently underway. Further information will be provided shortly.
The city administration asks residents and road users for their understanding for the inconvenience caused by the construction work.
