On Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 8 pm, the Stadttheater Idar-Oberstein will become the stage for a special highlight: As part of the "Idar-Oberstein tanzt!" series, the Sebastian Weber Dance Company (SWDC) will present its rousing production "Glitz".
"Glitz" is a colorful and energetic mix of dance performance and concert. Inspired by the vibrant club scene, the production brings the passion and magic of the dancefloor to the stage. Accompanied by a top-class live band, the dancers of the Sebastian Weber Dance Company (SWDC) pay homage to the transformative power of pop music.
The piece celebrates musical genres such as disco, funk, hip-hop and techno - forms of expression that have emerged from subcultural movements. "Glitz" is loud, colorful and full of energy - a passionate tribute to the culture of the night that goes far beyond dancing.
A day dedicated to dance in Idar-Oberstein
Workshops will take place during the day, offering all those interested the opportunity to become active themselves. Directly before the performance, a danced introduction to the piece is offered - a special introduction to the themes and aesthetics of "Glitz". After the performance, the evening ends with a free after-show party, to which all visitors are cordially invited.
With the performance of "Glitz", the Sebastian Weber Dance Company bids farewell to Idar-Oberstein for the time being. After three years of creative collaboration, this evening marks a grand finale.
