Since the introduction of the Integreat app in the district of Birkenfeld, the digital information service for immigrants has continued to develop. The app and the accompanying website integreat.app/birkenfeld/en now offer a central point of contact for important information about life in the district - multilingual, up-to-date and easily accessible.
Positive balance since activation
Feedback shows that the service has been well received - both the app and the website are used regularly, particularly in the areas of housing, education, health and everyday assistance.
Content is continuously updated, supplemented and tailored to the needs of users.
New languages: Persian and Romanian
A milestone in the further development is the addition of two more languages to the range: In addition to German, English, French, Ukrainian and Arabic, Persian (Farsi) and Romanian are now also available. The district and the city of Idar-Oberstein, which jointly launched the app, are thus responding to the growing linguistic diversity in the region and ensuring that even more people have access to relevant information - in their native language and in an understandable way.
"The Integreat app is an important component of our integration work in the Birkenfeld district. It gives immigrants quick access to reliable information and makes it easier for them to arrive and find their way in everyday life. I am delighted that we can now add more languages to the range," says District Administrator Miroslaw Kowalski.
Goal: Strengthen integration through information
The Integreat app helps immigrants get started in the region by making important information easily accessible and easy to understand. The app is designed to support integration by providing orientation, pointing out routes to advice services and making important contact points visible. The project is part of the district's long-term integration strategy and is constantly being developed further.
Focus on the future
In order to reach even more people, further content is currently being developed. Among other things, there are plans to work more closely with local contact points to make the app better known as a support tool, including in direct contact with people seeking advice.
Easy access for everyone
The app is available free of charge for Android and iOS devices and can also be used as a web version. Even people with little experience in dealing with digital media benefit from the simple operation and clear structure of the content.
