Successful start to the season in the city park

Around 100 visitors - including many families with children, members of the skate community, young people and sports enthusiasts - gathered at the facility in the Nahetal business park. The event was organized by the youth work of the Idar-Oberstein Youth Welfare Office and there was plenty of activity everywhere, whether on the skate park, volleyball court, soccer pitch or basketball court. The inclusion swing was also used enthusiastically. A special highlight was the opening of the newly filled overseas containers, which now house numerous play and sports materials. Visitors were able to borrow and try out a wide variety of outdoor games, balls and sports equipment free of charge - from footballs, badminton sets, frisbees and balance boards to giant games such as Viking chess, ladder golf and Mikado. An offer that went down particularly well with the younger guests and was accompanied by the city's school social work. Of course, there was also plenty to eat and drink: in addition to grilled sausages from the youth work team and cool drinks from Eventtechnik Tobias Bamberg, the ice cream van from Eiscafé Tony was also very popular. The day was accompanied musically by DJ Pepe Longsleeve, who provided a lively atmosphere with a variety of beats.

"We are delighted with the successful start to the season and that the park has been so well received. It was particularly nice to see how varied the park was used today and by all generations - which is exactly what we wanted," emphasized Melissa Becker from the youth work team. The response was consistently positive, with many visitors praising the relaxed atmosphere and enjoying the new leisure activities on offer in the park. With this successful start, the city park is ready for many more spring days.
