The city of Idar-Oberstein is once again organizing a volunteer festival this year. With this event, the city council and administration would like to thank those who volunteer in and for Idar-Oberstein. The volunteer festival will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 5 p.m. at the Idar-Oberstein exhibition center. Participation is free of charge, but the number of participants is limited to 500 people. Registration is therefore required.
Volunteering plays a major role in our state. "1.5 million volunteers make Rhineland-Palatinate a strong and vibrant state," emphasized Minister President Alexander Schweitzer just recently as part of his volunteer trip. Many people in Idar-Oberstein are also involved in clubs, organizations and initiatives. "I am proud and grateful that these people are so committed to their fellow citizens and take on social responsibility," emphasizes Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf. This is why the Volunteer Festival has been taking place since 2022 as a building block for promoting volunteering.
The official part of the event includes tributes to successful athletes, the awarding of the Golden Badge of Honor and a short entertainment program. The Bachwagge Idar-Oberstein will provide the musical accompaniment. Afterwards, the town invites the participants to a hot and cold buffet and there is of course plenty of opportunity for good conversation and a lively exchange of ideas.
- Registrations are requested by Monday, May 12, 2025, by e-mail to ehrenamt@idar-oberstein.de. Please include your name and contact details as well as the organization you work for. Organizations can of course also send a collective registration for their active participants. Participation is based on the order of registration.
