In Idar-Oberstein, too, all residents with a history of migration are called upon to vote. This applies to foreigners, naturalized citizens, late repatriates and their children from the age of 16. The advisory councils for migration and integration are committed to the interests of people with a history of migration and immigration. They advise local authorities and political bodies on integration policy issues and ensure that the diverse perspectives and needs of people with a migration background are taken into account in political decisions.
Candidatures are possible until September 23
"We encourage all interested residents to stand for election and call on all eligible voters to cast their vote. A high level of participation will enable the advisory boards to continue their important work and be a strong voice for integration in Idar-Oberstein," explains Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf.
All residents with and without a migration background are eligible to run for the advisory board. It is still possible to submit nominations until September 23.
