City marketing board confirmed in office

As part of the annual report and statement of accounts, he gave a positive summary of last year's events. The classic car meeting, which has been organized jointly with the Idar-Oberstein Automobile Club since 2022, is becoming more and more popular every year. Leonhard Stibitz, deputy chairman of the association, gave a brief presentation of this and other events, some of which were supported by the association or the city's city management "Citymood".

The Idar-Oberstein gift vouchers continue to be a success, with more than 49,000 euros worth of them sold last year, which have kept a lot of purchasing power in the town for years.

After establishing that the cash management was impeccable, the actions of the Executive Board were unanimously approved. Regular elections were held this year, at which the current Board was unanimously confirmed in office. It is composed as follows: Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf as Chairman, Anja Ulrike Becker from Vereinigte Volksbank Raiffeisenbank and Leonhard Stibitz from Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld as his deputies. Dietmar Schuch from the specialist wine store "Weinlight" and Rouven Voigt from the German Gemstone Route Association serve as assessors.

After the budget was unanimously approved, Caroline Pehlke gave an outlook on future events in the inner city areas and the future direction of the association. Thanks to financial support as part of the "Sustainable inner cities and centers" funding programme, various events have already been organized this year, such as the three after-work events in Idar, which are to be further developed in the coming year. Last year, a St. Martin's procession through the Oberstein pedestrian zone was supported, which delighted all visitors and will be held again this year. The hanging baskets and planters in the town centers are also very popular. In addition, an Advent glow is being organized for 12 to 14 December 2024 on Idar Schleiferplatz. In addition to the gemstone cutters' and goldsmiths' market, the Felsenkirche Treppenlauf will also receive financial support from the funding program.

The central aim is to increase public awareness of city marketing and to find more supporters for further projects in the future.
