Interested parties can also buy a subscription for this. This includes a total of six events from October 2024 to March 2025 and promises theatergoers the best entertainment, brilliant theater and rocking music.
As in previous years, the prices for a subscription remain constant. Subscriptions are currently still available in all three categories. Anyone interested should contact the Cultural Office immediately, as tickets will go on sale after September 20, 2024.
The theater program starts on 26 October with "Backbeat - the Beatles in Hamburg" by the Altonaer Theater Hamburg, which is presenting a musical based on the Universal feature film of the same name by Iain Softley and Stephen Jeffreys. Backbeat tells of the beginnings of the "Fab Four" and invites the audience on a fascinatingly nostalgic musical journey through time with songs such as "Love me do" and "I saw her standing there".
On November 15, 2024, the New Globe Theater will perform "Mephisto" as a play with music based on the novel by Klaus Mann. The New Globe Theater is staging a revue of the material with live music and an emcee, inspired by the political cabaret of the 1920s and 1930s. Playful actors and actresses and great music make for entertaining fun. The New Globe Theater was awarded the INTHEGA prize "Die Neuberin" for this play.
The Chawwerusch Theater will conclude the year 2024 on December 7, 2024 with the play "Alte Sorten - Zwei Frauen und die alten Sorten im Birnengarten". The novel by Ewald Arenz, Spiegel Liste's bestseller of the year for two years, is perfect for the stage!
The new year continues on January 18 with "Michael Kohlhaas". A piece of world literature (based on Heinrich von Kleist) of current explosiveness, as if made for the passionate puppet theater of the Cipolla stage.
On February 1, 2025, the audience can enjoy the sounds of the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie with the title "Wind Serenade". Under this title, the audience can look forward to works by Weill, Piazolla and Shostakovich. Performed by the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie and cellist Gabriel Schwabe, under the musical direction of Enrique Ugarte.
The Idar-Oberstein autumn-winter theater program ends on 8 March 2025 with the Italian song recital by Dietmar Löffler "Pasta e Basta" from the Hamburg Kammerspiele. "Pasta e basta" features a hilarious plot set in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant, with plenty of intelligent wit to keep the laughs coming and terrific actors who are also incredibly talented singers and sing one song after another with astonishing ease.
