OB calls for participation in the BMI election

All residents with a history of migration, i.e. foreigners, naturalized citizens, late repatriates and their children aged 16 and over, are called upon to vote.

"You can help decide who represents your interests on the advisory board," says Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf, calling on the approximately 7350 eligible voters to exercise their right to vote. The Advisory Council for Migration and Integration is committed to the equal coexistence of people of different nationalities, cultures and religions in Idar-Oberstein and also represents the interests of residents with a migration background vis-à-vis the city authorities. The advisory board consists of 15 members, 10 of whom are elected and 5 of whom are delegated by the political groups represented in the city council. There are 25 candidates running for the 10 advisory board seats to be elected.

Eligible voters received their election notification in mid-October. You can vote on election day in the polling station or in advance by postal vote. The polling station is located in the foyer of the city administration building at Georg-Maus-Straße 1 and is open from 1 pm to 6 pm. Polling cards and postal voting documents can be applied for in person at the electoral office until Friday, November 8, 2024, at 6 pm. In addition, postal voting documents can also be applied for online via a link on the homepage www.idar-oberstein.de, which will then be sent by post.

The provisional election result will then be determined directly on Sunday, November 10 after 6 pm. Both the election process and the vote count are open to the public.
