New senior citizens' advisory council begins work

The constituent meeting of the new Idar-Oberstein Senior Citizens' Advisory Council took place on Tuesday. The council is chaired by Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf and its members are Edith Arndt, Gerhard Cullmann, Ilse Forster, Jasmin Klein, Paul Kruschel, Jürgen Müller, Beate Pees-Dörner, Heinz Rauch, Marie Luise Reichert, Michael Schweizer, Albert Sohni, Karl Heinz Totz and Monika Welker.

City administration of Idar-Oberstein

The first official act was to hold elections for the representation of the advisory board. Karl-Heinz Totz was unanimously elected as spokesperson for the advisory board and Karl-Heinz Totz and Jasmin Klein were unanimously elected as members of the state senior citizens' representation.

The agenda also included the organization of the Christmas party for senior citizens in Idar-Oberstein. This was also unanimously approved by the advisory board and scheduled for Saturday, December 14, 2024. It will take place from 1.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Idar-Oberstein exhibition center.

Two boules afternoons in the city are also planned for the coming year.
