In the first week of November, the Sebastian Weber Dance Company once again made house calls in Idar-Oberstein. From Monday to Friday, the group visited a total of eight daycare centers in the city as well as the Peter Caesar School in Göttschied. Due to the cancellation of another institution at short notice, the group was even allowed to perform the piece there a second time spontaneously. As this school teaches children and young people with cognitive support needs and additional motor impairments, they were obviously happy to have a mobile children's play that was delivered directly to the school without any complications, as it is not easy to plan a class trip or even a school trip to the theater.
As part of the "Idar-Oberstein tanzt!" dance promotion program, the play was offered by the Idar-Oberstein Cultural Office to all interested institutions as a free cultural offering for children. The play "Schuh-Bi-Du" is a mix of dance, object and sound theater designed to appeal to children through many senses.
The dance company from Leipzig has been active in the city since 2022 thanks to funding from the Federal Cultural Foundation's Tanzland project and has already made a number of "house calls" to various institutions. For the first time with an adaptation of the piece "TOUCH". This was followed by "CABOOM" and this year it is "Schuh Bi Du".
