Surface course renewal on several roads

From November 15 to 28, 2024, milling and asphalt work will be carried out on various roads in the city area to renew the surface course. This will require full road closures on the affected sections of road.

From Friday, November 15 to Wednesday, November 20, 2024, work will be carried out on Dr.-Ottmar-Kohler-Straße in the area between the Göttschieder Straße junction and the entrance to the Idar-Oberstein hospital. This section will be fully closed to traffic. Traffic will be diverted via Göttschieder Straße, Flugplatzstraße and Hahrachstraße. Access to the hospital and the hospital parking garage is still possible.

From Monday, November 18 to Thursday, November 21, 2024, work will be carried out on Struthstraße between the Nahebrücke bridge and the junction with Fallbachstraße. This section will be fully closed to traffic. The detour will be via Alte Ludwigshöhe road. To this end, the existing one-way traffic regulations will be lifted and traffic will be regulated by traffic lights. Delivery traffic with trucks is not possible during the construction work. Pedestrian traffic can use the footpath in the area of the construction site. School bus traffic will run without restrictions via the detour route. Smaller buses will be used for public transport. This may result in timetable delays. Passengers should therefore pay attention to the notices at the bus stops and the publications of the transport companies.

From Monday, November 25 to Wednesday, November 27, 2024, work will be carried out on Hauptstraße in the area of the Alexanderplatz bus stop. This section will be fully closed to traffic. The detour will be through Mainzer Straße via the Edelstein traffic circle.

From Monday, November 25 to Thursday, November 28, 2024, work will be carried out in Hohlstraße in the area between the junctions with Friedrichstraße and Breslauer Straße. This section will be fully closed to traffic. The detour will be via Friedrich-Ebert-Ring, Treibelsbergstraße, Jahnstraße and Breslauer Straße. Pedestrian traffic can use the sidewalk in the area of the construction site.

The city administration asks residents and road users for their understanding for the inconvenience caused by the work.
