The 27th Idar-Oberstein Jazz Days will take place in Idar from May 24 to 26, 2024. Due to the preparations for the festival, there will be some organizational changes for residents and suppliers in the pedestrian zone. The city administration asks for your understanding for the associated inconvenience.
Garbage collection earlier
The waste management company of the Birkenfeld National Park district would like to point out that due to the road closures associated with the Jazz Days, the collection of residual waste in the following areas will already take place on Thursday, May 23, 2024: Marktplatz / Schleiferplatz / pedestrian zone including adjacent streets. As usual, waste must be put out for collection by 6 a.m. at the latest.

Marketplace will be closed
A stage for the Jazz Days will be set up on Idar's market square again this year. For this reason, the parking spaces there will be closed from Thursday, May 23, 2024, at 2 pm. From this time up to and including Monday, May 27, 2024, at 12 noon, the parking spaces cannot be used. Furthermore, driving in the pedestrian zone is not permitted during the festival. Residents whose parking spaces are located in the pedestrian zone can be allocated an alternative parking space and issued with a parking permit.
