The booklet, designed by Bärbel Busch from Schwollen in a colorful and child-friendly style, is once again packed full of exciting activities for children and young people aged 6 to 18. It contains more than 70 one-day or multi-day offers from clubs, institutions and artists from the region. The areas covered include sport, music and dance, creativity, excursions and activities as well as media and technology.
Together with friends or their parents, the children can choose their favorite events from the range on offer. Registration can be done conveniently online or using the form in the vacation booklet. At the end of June, the computer will draw lots to determine the participants from all the registrations. They will then receive confirmation of participation by post.
Mayor Frank Frühauf is delighted that a great and varied program could be put together again this year. He also emphasized the commitment of the sponsors. "Thanks to the great support of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education, Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld and the Bürkle Foundation, it is possible to offer the individual activities at these moderate participation fees."
"Most registrations now come in via the online platform," reported Sabine Moser and Sebastian Herzig. Nevertheless, the City Youth Welfare Office is sticking with the colorful program booklet. "The children can browse through it with their parents or friends, which is different to looking at it on a screen." They also point out that, in addition to the activities listed in the booklet, the youth welfare office will also be providing supervision for the new city park during the vacation period. "It is already very popular and will certainly be even busier during the summer vacations." The image film that Steven Werthwein made of the opening weekend will certainly contribute to this. There will now also be one for the vacation program. Werthwein is one of the numerous cooperation partners of the vacation program and is holding a three-day workshop where participants can gain an insight into professional film production.
- The vacation booklet has already been distributed to the city's elementary school and will be available to pupils on the first day of school after the Whitsun vacations. It will also be distributed to schools in the district and is available as a PDF file on the city's website at www.idar-oberstein.de/sommerferienprogramm.
