On Saturday, June 29, 2024, the 35th Idar-Oberstein Old Town Run will take place in the pedestrian zone of Oberstein. The event is organized by the city youth welfare office in conjunction with the city association of sports clubs and TV 1848 Oberstein. Registration is now open.
A total of six races for different age groups are offered as part of the Altstadtlauf. Participation is possible from the U8 age group (born between 2017 and 2020). This completes a distance of 370 meters. The distances increase for each age group up to the main race, which is around 6.5 kilometers long. The route leads through the pedestrian zone below the Felsenkirche church, with the start and finish on Austraße, at the back of the Tourist Information Office. The first competition starts at 3.30 pm, the main race at 6.30 pm. After the youth races and the main race, award ceremonies will take place on the Oberstein market square. The three fastest runners in each age group will receive their certificates. For the other participants, the certificates will be made available in the registration portal after the races.
Registration for the Altstadtlauf is only possible online at https://my.raceresult.com, the portal is now open. The registration fee for adults is 5 euros, for children and young people 2.50 euros, children under 8 are free. Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, June 23, 2024; late registrations are not possible.
