Circus air blows through the Staden again

The Idar-Oberstein Youth Welfare Office would like to take this opportunity to inform you that the popular circus camp with Circus ZappZarap will once again be taking place in Tiefensteiner Staden as part of the 2024 summer holiday program. It's curtain up and ring free from Monday, August 5 to Saturday, August 10, 2024. Registrations are now open.

During the project week, exciting and varied workshops are offered under the motto "Can't you was yesterday". The participants learn new things, discover their limits and how to overcome them. Each circus genre addresses different areas of the body and personality. Balancing on a unicycle or running ball promotes a sense of balance and can be an opportunity to experience your own body in a new way. Acting as a clown or magician can be used to discover and develop personality traits. Eating fire or walking on the nail board can overcome fears and open up new perspectives. Standing in front of an audience of strangers and their own parents, performing a trick and receiving applause boosts self-confidence. Of course, the skills developed in the circus project are also presented. On Friday, August 9, 2024, in a performance for relatives and on Saturday, August 10, 2024, in a public circus performance.

In previous years, the circus instructors have always provided children and young people with an unforgettable circus week. The children were able to get a taste of the circus ring - in a proper circus tent, of course - and trained together with their team members in various genres for the show at the end of the week. They wowed their audience and showed off their talents.

The City Youth Welfare Office's vacation circus is aimed at children and young people aged 6 to 12. The all-day project, including lunch, is intended to offer working and single parents in particular the opportunity to take advantage of an attractive vacation program with qualified educational care for their children. This is because many parents are dependent on qualified all-day programs, especially in the summer months. And the children can look forward to a week full of new experiences, lots of fun and thrills in the circus ring.

  • The participation fee including meals is 70 euros. The core times of the circus program are between 10 am and 4 pm. Early supervision is available from 8.30 a.m. after prior registration. Children can be picked up until 4.30 pm. Binding registrations for the vacation camp are now possible by e-mail to jugendarbeit@idar-oberstein.de.
