Inspector of the Army visits Idar-Oberstein

During his visit to the Idar-Oberstein Artillery School, the Inspector of the Army, Lieutenant General Alfons Mais, also signed the town's Golden Book in the presence of Dr. Joe Weingarten, Member of the Bundestag, Colonel Olaf Tuneke, Commander of the Artillery School and General of the Artillery Troops, Lieutenant Colonel Raik Pokorny, Commander of Artillery Training Battalion 345, and Wolfgang Röske, representing the CDU in the town council.

At the joint lunch with Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf and others, the inspector was able to see for himself the great solidarity between the town and the Bundeswehr at the Idar-Oberstein base.

During a tour of the artillery school and the Klotzberg barracks, Lieutenant General Mais learned about the training of Ukrainian soldiers on the 2000 self-propelled howitzer and the expansion plans for both properties.
