Rock stabilization work in Mainzer Straße

Even after the speed limit was reduced to 20 km/h in the current construction section of the rock stabilization work in Mainzer Straße, the traffic situation there has not eased. A number of road users are still driving far too fast and without consideration through the construction site area. For the safety of the workers working there, Mainzer Straße will therefore be fully closed to through traffic in the area between the junction of Pappelstraße and Hoher Steg from Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Traffic in the direction of Oberstein will be diverted via Pappelstraße, Hauptstraße and Emil-Kirschmann-Brücke. At the same time, the speed reduction to 30 km/h in Mainzer Straße between the junctions with Prof.-Schlossmacher-Straße and Pappelstraße will be lifted and the "Pappelstraße" bus stop will be reopened for use. This regulation will apply until the end of the rock stabilization work, probably at the end of June 2024.

The city administration asks residents and road users for their understanding for the inconvenience caused by the detour.
