Petra Lauer celebrates 40 years of service

Petra Lauer began training as an office assistant at the city administration on August 1, 1983. After successfully passing her exams, she was initially employed as a school secretary, but soon switched to administration and worked in event management at both the Cultural Office and the Youth Welfare Office. On November 1, 1996, Petra Lauer took over the road traffic department at the building authority. This was then incorporated into the Public Order Office in September 2001, and since then she has also been responsible for imposing fines for traffic violations. Petra Lauer's 40th anniversary of service was actually due in December 2023, but for personal reasons the celebration only took place now.

"Petra Lauer has successfully made her way in the city administration," emphasized Mayor Marx at the ceremony, describing the jubilarian as an extremely reliable but also contentious employee. The work of the road traffic authority is a classic intervention administration, "which usually doesn't make you popular with those affected." However, Petra Lauer would then use her professional expertise to enter into objective discussions and justify the decision-making process. "That is also important for me as the responsible department head," emphasized the mayor, describing Petra Lauer as one of the pillars of the public order office.

With a certificate from the Prime Minister and a few gifts, Mayor Marx thanked the jubilarian for her commitment and hard work and wished her all the best for her future career and life. Colleagues and staff representatives were happy to join in the thanks and good wishes.
