Christiane Mernberger is retired

In a small ceremony, Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf, colleagues and staff representatives bid farewell to the employee of the municipal building management into her well-deserved retirement.

On January 1, 1980, Christiane Mernberger was hired by the Idar-Oberstein city administration as a childcare worker at the Nahbollenbach daycare center. Over the years, she worked in various childcare facilities in the town, including the Weierbach, Göttschied and Nahbollenbach/Ringstraße daycare centers and the Hohl playroom. When she was no longer able to work as a childcare worker for health reasons, she moved to administration in 2004 and was initially employed in the messenger and printing department before taking over the digitization of documents in the building management department in 2021.

"This is a rather unusual career path at the city administration," Mayor Frank Frühauf attested to the future pensioner. However, this shows that there are many different fields of activity in the administration. Frühauf thanked Christiane Mernberger for her work and wished her all the best for the new phase of her life. He sent her off into retirement with a certificate of thanks and a few gifts. Colleagues and staff representatives were also happy to join in the thanks and good wishes. Markus Schapperth, Head of Facility Management, had special praise for her: "Christiane Mernberger was the good soul of the office."
