Online survey on future childcare services

The new All-Day Support Act (GaFöG) obliges the youth welfare offices to offer more afternoon care services from 2026. There will be a legal entitlement to these childcare services. It will be introduced step by step, starting with first-graders in the 2026/2027 school year.

The city of Idar-Oberstein is conducting an online survey to find out more about childcare needs. All parents and guardians whose children are starting elementary school in 2024 or 2025 or are in first or second grade at the time of the survey can take part until Thursday, February 29, 2024. Among other things, they will be asked how their children are currently looked after, what childcare times parents need and what public services they would like to use. The wishes and suggestions identified in this way are important for the planning and further improvement of future services. The information is treated confidentially and evaluated in such a way that no conclusions can be drawn about individual persons. Compliance with data protection is guaranteed at all times.

  • There are separate questionnaires for parents with pre-school children and parents with children from elementary school. The questionnaire for nursery children can be found at https://ism-ggmbh.limesurvey.net/gafoeg-io-kita and the one for school children at https://ism-ggmbh.limesurvey.net/gafoeg-io-schule. Participation in the online survey takes about 10 minutes.
