On Saturday and Sunday, March 9 and 10, 2024, two family performances will take place at 3 pm in the Idar-Oberstein Municipal Theater. There will also be two school performances on March 12 and 13. The Children's Culture Days are sponsored by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education.
The musical kids under the direction of Kerstin Kornetzky have already produced and performed the play "Rummel im Dschungel" themselves twice in recent years - from the rhythmic music to the diverse, colorful costumes to the magnificent backdrops. And as all good things come in threes, after the performances in 2005 and 2013, they are once again taking off with another new production of their long-running success.
In this new production, around 90 performers invite audiences aged 6 and over on a 90-minute journey into the jungle. This is where the jungle child Okoti lives peacefully with his best friend, the lion cub Leo, a herd of lively monkeys and many other animals. However, one day American poachers appear in the jungle to capture the members of the jungle family and sell them for a lot of money. They even manage to catch the rare fish of life. Without it, the animal and plant friends in the jungle quickly get into trouble. Because without the miraculous powers of the fish, the water around them begins to rot.
So Okoti and Leo set off together with the help of the audience to free the fish and save the jungle. But the road to liberation is more difficult than expected because Kiano, the leopard, has sided with the poachers.
