The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

The gift voucher is to become digital

Together with the company "Keep Local" from St. Wendel, the city management in cooperation with the city marketing association will present the project on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 6.30 pm on the upper floor of the Brasserie on Schleiferplatz in Idar. All retailers, restaurateurs and service providers who are interested in issuing or accepting the digital voucher are invited to this event.

The voucher is intended to replace the Idar-Oberstein gift voucher, which was previously only available in paper form and as a 10 euro voucher. The new voucher can be issued in check card format or in paper format online or offline and the value can be freely selected, which means more flexibility for all stakeholders. The central aim of the gift vouchers is still to support local retailers, restaurateurs and service providers through purchasing power. In addition, the new voucher is also interesting for companies that would like to give their employees an amount as a tax-free benefit in kind. The previous Idar-Oberstein gift vouchers can still be redeemed for the duration of the statutory periods.
