Clowning, artistry and intercultural fairy tales

As part of the Children's Culture Days, the City Youth Welfare Office is offering two afternoon events. On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 4 p.m., Clown Francesco will be a guest at Idar Primary School, and on Thursday, March 7, 2024, the Blinklichter Theater will make a guest appearance in the Göttenbach auditorium. The Children's Culture Days are sponsored by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education.

Clowning and artistry

As Clown Francesco, Franz Herzhoff from Cologne takes visitors on a varied journey into the world of clowning and artistry. Whether as a clumsy clown, daredevil high-wheeler, curious magician, imaginative juggler or daredevil fire-eater: Francesco takes on the battle with the treachery of the object in ever new roles. His stories are skillfully staged, accompanied by great music and always involve the audience.

Intercultural play

The Blinklichter Theater from St. Leon-Rot is showing the play "The Cloud in Love", a Turkish fairy tale freely adapted from Nazim Hikmet, which is suitable for children aged 3 and over. Once upon a time, there was no time - that's what all Turkish fairy tales say and that's also how the story of the cloud in love begins. It tells of Kara Seyfi, the richest man in the land of flutes, the girl Ayse and her wonderful garden and Ayse's friends: the little cloud, the dove and the rabbit. Kara Seyfis pursues a cunning plan to take possession of Ayse's garden. To this end, he embarks on a journey to the land of drought and the land of winds - and experiences the adventurous battle between wind and cloud. Through oriental storytelling, puppetry and shadow theater, the audience is transported into a fairytale world from 1001 Nights. The fairy tale is staged bilingually, in Turkish and German. The intercultural play brings foreign cultures closer and helps to break down prejudices.
