Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf welcomed the guests together with Karl-Heinz Totz, spokesman for the Seniors' Advisory Council. Frühauf emphasized the great importance of values such as community, cordiality and mutual support, especially in the run-up to Christmas. The mayor paid tribute to the achievements of the older generation, who have shaped Idar-Oberstein with their energy, knowledge and commitment. "They are a role model for our younger generation."
While enjoying coffee and cake, the guests were able to experience a varied supporting program, with performances by the Tiefenstein music club, the cheerleaders from the Idar gymnastics club and the Bachwagge Idar-Oberstein. The most important thing, however, is the lively exchange of ideas. People meet old acquaintances and friends they haven't seen for a while, and there is a hustle and bustle between the individual tables. "It's nice to see that our Christmas party is so well received and brings so much joy to our senior citizens," emphasized Lord Mayor Frühauf, wishing all visitors a blessed Christmas and a happy New Year.
