Since August, a weekly meeting for families with children who are still waiting for a place in a daycare center has been offered in the seminar room of the city library, Hauptstraße 373a in the Oberstein pedestrian zone. The response to the previous events has been so good that the offer will continue until further notice. The meeting, which focuses on children's language development, is run by volunteers and lasts between one and one and a half hours. The aim of the offer is to make it easier for children to start nursery and later transition to elementary school by introducing them to the German language through play. Children between the ages of 0 and 6 can take part in the free parent-child program. Parents are responsible for supervising their children during the meeting.
In January, the Sprachtreff will take place on the following dates:
For children aged 2-6 years Tuesday, January 7, 14, 21 and 28, 2025, from 9.15 to 10.45 am.
For children aged 0-3 years, Thursday, January 9 and 23, 2025 from 2:45 to 3:45 pm.
The current dates can also be found on the city administration's homepage at www.idar-oberstein.de.
