Language meeting for families with children without a daycare place

Since August 7, a weekly meeting for families with children who are still waiting for a daycare place has been taking place in the seminar room of the city library, Hauptstraße 373a in the Oberstein pedestrian zone. The meeting, which focuses on children's language development, is run by volunteers and lasts one and a half hours. The aim of the event is to make it easier for children to start nursery and later transition to elementary school by introducing them to the German language through play. Children between the ages of 0 and 6 can take part in the free parent-child program. Parents are responsible for supervising their children during the meeting.

In September, the Sprachtreff will take place on the following dates: Wednesday, September 4, 11, 18 and 25, 2024, each from 9.15 to 10.45 am. The current dates can also be found on the city administration's website at www.idar-oberstein.de

  • The contact person for questions about the offer is Sophie Oberländer, youth welfare planner for the city of Idar-Oberstein, e-mail sophie.oberlaender@idar-oberstein.de.
