Tanja Horbach and Silvio Lorek from the SAPV Care team, which covers the Birkenfeld district with Idar-Oberstein and Baumholder, the Kusel district with the Altenglan and Oberes Glantal municipalities, the Kirn municipality and the non-associated town of Kirn, recently presented the special concept of specialized outpatient palliative care to Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf.
Specialized outpatient palliative care (SAPV) is intended to improve the care and treatment of people suffering from incurable and advanced illnesses. The aim is to provide intensive care and thus improve quality of life. Relatives are also closely involved in the care process.
Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf emphasizes "the great importance of caring for the seriously ill at home and the support that relatives can receive from special palliative care staff." Managing Director Silvio Lorek describes the team's positive experience in cooperating with GPs and specialists, as well as with hospitals and care services. Tanja Horbach, Head of Nursing at SAPV Care GmbH in Birkenfeld, points out that the employees have a lot of experience in their field and take a lot of time for the patients. The costs can be covered by the health insurance company after consultation.
