The circus camp at Tiefensteiner Staden is always one of the highlights of the Idar-Oberstein Youth Welfare Office's summer holiday program. The project week with the ZappZarap circus is an unforgettable experience for the participants. So it's no wonder that the demand for this activity is always high. This year, the offer was fully booked three hours after it was announced.
The fact that this fantastic event can take place is also thanks to Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld. It regularly supports the circus camp with funds from the mayor's donation pot. This year, the KSK once again provided 2,600 euros for this purpose.
Together with KSK employee Celine Roes, Mayor Friedrich Marx visited the circus camp to see the participants' training progress on site. Under the guidance of the circus teachers from ZappZarap and with the support of 22 volunteer supervisors, around 80 children aged 6 to 12 were able to try their hand at a wide variety of circus genres. They balanced, performed magic, juggled, swung on the trapeze, danced with scarves and much more in the large circus tent.
"I'm very impressed by what they do here," emphasized Celine Roes and promised to be there for the public performance. Because at the end of the circus camp, the tricks and stunts they have learned are always presented in front of an audience. Mayor Friedrich Marx thanked her for the sponsorship of the project by Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld. "The KSK is thus continuing its good tradition of supporting the excellent work of our town youth welfare office." The mayor also thanked the circus instructors, Sabine Moser and Sebastian Herzig from the municipal youth welfare office and the entire team of supervisors for their outstanding commitment to the realization of the popular circus camp.
