Autumn holiday program of the city youth welfare office

The vacation program opens with a real highlight. Together with the Idar-Oberstein Women's Shelter, the City Youth Welfare Office is celebrating the female gender. The first Female Future Fest in Idar-Oberstein will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5 p.m. at the Jugendtreff am Markt (JAM). In addition to musical performances by three powerful women, there will also be various information stands and a talk on the topics of domestic violence, toxic relationships and self-empowerment. The evening will take place under the motto of the publicity campaign of the Rhineland-Palatinate Conference of Women's Shelters: "I see something you don't see! - Naming violence. Recognize signs." will take place. Admission is free.

It continues on Monday, October 16, 2023, with Popcorn in the Cornfield. The children's and youth film tour organized by medien.rlp will be stopping off in Idar-Oberstein again this year. From 12:45 to 17:00, children between the ages of 8 and 14 can watch an exciting thriller in the Fischbach copper mine and then take a tour of the visitor mine. Participation is free of charge, but registration is required.

At the end of the first week of the vacations, a theater workshop will take place at the Jugendtreff am Markt under the direction of Susanne Kirchner and Julia Besand from the Frauenmantel ensemble. On Friday, October 20, 2023, all those interested in theater between the ages of 10 and 14 can get a taste of the world of theater from 1 pm to 5:30 pm. It's all about trying things out, acting and discovering what you're made of. Mini-scenes are improvised, rehearsed and developed further together. You should bring comfortable clothes, non-slip socks, a blanket to lie on and an object of your choice. Participation is free of charge, registration is required.

The second week of the vacation continues on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, with the workshop "Girls' Statement - against violence" in cooperation with the Idar-Oberstein Women's Shelter. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the youth club at the market, the topic of violence and possible ways out of it will be discussed and creative anti-violence messages and encouraging statements will be designed. Girls between the ages of 10 and 14 can take part. The participation fee is 3 euros, registration is required.

In addition, from Tuesday to Wednesday, October 24 to 27, 2023, the Evangelical Christusgemeinde Idar-Oberstein is offering the construction of a Lego city in the premises at Wilhelmstraße 15-17. Every day from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Lego fans between the ages of 8 and 14 can experience a varied program between building phases, singing together and exciting stories. Finally, the works of art will be presented on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at 10 a.m. in a family church service. The participation fee for the four days is 17 euros, registration is required.

Just before Halloween, JAM will of course be hosting another Halloween party. On Monday, October 30, 2023, from 6 p.m., the evil spirits will be chased away with a Halloween costume party for young people aged 12 and over. There will be dancing, partying and scares. Admission is free.
