Successful sports badge day

In almost perfect conditions, around 40 participants gathered at the "Auf der Bein" sports facility to complete the various disciplines for the German Sports Badge.

The aim of the campaign is to enable people who are not organized in a sports club in particular to obtain the sports badge. The performance requirements for the badge, which is available in gold, silver and bronze grades, can be achieved by almost anyone who is reasonably fit - provided they train regularly.

And so, on the day of the event, all age groups from children aged 6 and up to sprightly senior citizens were at the start and completed the five stations for ball throw, impact disciplines, long jump, sprint and endurance run. The many supporters and helpers from various district clubs gave valuable tips, motivated and finally cataloged the performances. The organizers were full of praise for the parents who encouraged their children to take part, but above all for those who set a good example themselves and put on their sneakers.

This year, the soccer team from SV 05 Göttschied made a special contribution to the success of the campaign. Marco Barletta, coach and long-time sports badge participant, encouraged almost his entire team and their friends to take part. The day before, SV 05 had dispatched TuS Becherbach 11:0 and celebrated accordingly. Nevertheless, the boys and girls delivered a great performance and fought for every second and every centimeter, with coach Barletta always leading by example.
