The winner of the sunflower competition has been announced

In spring, the Enzweiler daycare center called for an inter-agency sunflower competition. Thirteen daycare centers from Idar-Oberstein entered the competition. "It was an exciting few months for children, teachers and parents," reported Sabrina Becker, the manager of the Enzweiler daycare center. They were busy pouring, constantly observing and measuring. The overriding question was: Who will grow the biggest sunflower?

The children at the Enzweiler daycare center were also busy watering, and even the summer party revolved around the theme of sunflowers. The future schoolchildren had rehearsed a play and proudly performed it for the guests. They also performed a dance and a finger play, in which all the children took part with great enthusiasm.

After the summer vacations, the time had finally come: five of the thirteen daycare centers were still in the running and the Enzweiler daycare center invited all participants to the final. The excitement grew during a cozy get-together with home-made treats that matched the sunflower theme. Who would take first place in the competition?

Fifth place went to the Weierbach daycare center with a height of 1.27 meters, followed by the St. Peter and Paul daycare center with a height of 1.93 meters. Third place went to the Nahbollenbach daycare center with a height of 2.00 meters, followed by the Enzweiler daycare center with a height of 2.28 meters. The undisputed winner was Kita Hasenklopp with a height of 2.97 meters and thus a clear gap to the following places. The first three places were each rewarded with a small prize, and all participants also received a certificate as a memento. "It was another great and above all exciting time among the daycare centers," Sabrina Becker summed up, "let's see what awaits us next year."
