The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

How a Lego city is created

From 1 pm to 5 pm, 24 Lego fans aged 8 to 14 built a city from around 100,000 individual Lego bricks. The children and young people worked with great enthusiasm and concentration to build the individual buildings and vehicles. Some of the buildings were built according to templates, but there was also plenty of room for creativity in other areas. Between the building phases, a varied program of singing and stories livened up the afternoons. The finished Lego city was presented during a family church service.

In addition to participating in the city youth welfare office's autumn holiday program, the Evangelical Christ Church offers an open KidsTreff in its rooms at Wilhelmstraße 15-17 on Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m., which still has capacity for additional players.
