On Monday, November 27, 2023, an information event for property owners, estate agents and interested parties in the core areas of Oberstein and Idar will take place from 6 to 7.30 pm in the Alte Kanzlei restaurant at Hauptstraße 432 in Idar-Oberstein. As part of the federal funding program "Sustainable inner cities and centers", the topic of inner city development and the elimination of vacancies, among other things, is to be given greater focus.
Since the beginning of the year, a number of measures to increase the attractiveness of the two pedestrian zones have already been implemented or initiated. In addition, a pop-up store was opened at Hauptstraße 363 - at Gilsbachs Eck - at the beginning of August, which is also home to the CityMood city management office. City manager Samira Brächer is available there during certain office hours as a point of contact for businesses and citizens.
There is no silver bullet for the sustainable revitalization of city centres; instead, a whole bundle of measures and dialogue-based cooperation are required. Further development can only succeed if local authorities, the real estate industry and providers actively approach each other.
On the one hand, there is information about the "Sustainable inner cities and centers" funding program and what financial options are available, and the possibilities and ideas for vacancy management can also be discussed.
