Numerous tradespeople, restaurateurs and citizens accepted the invitation to the first network meeting in the Brauhaus. Among other things, the aim was to network retailers, restaurants and citizens who care about their city, as well as to plan specific joint events and campaigns.
First, Caroline Pehlke and Sarah Wagner presented the "Sustainable inner cities and centers" funding program, through which the city's economic development department can still subsidize measures and campaigns in the inner cities over the next two years. City Manager Samira Brächer then explained her role as contact person for ideas and suggestions.
The organizers of the first network meeting as part of the City Mood project were satisfied with the number of participants and the overall course of the event. The program is not called City Mood for nothing. In the run-up to the project, the topic of mood in the two centers was dealt with very intensively and this can sometimes be negative and hopefully develop more positively in the long term. "You also have to give the stakeholders the space to vent and reflect on what hasn't gone so well in the past," say the two women from the business development department.
"As city manager, Ms. Brächer is the point of contact for local stakeholders and, just like us, is able to deal with constructive criticism, resulting in new solutions and ideas for the future." It goes without saying that both districts are considered individually as part of the program and that campaigns and events have to be planned to suit the respective audience and the spatial conditions, while always trying to find a connection between the two districts. "We were able to collect a lot of great ideas, will now sort them out for ourselves and assume that we can put together a nice program for our two inner cities for 2024 - together with the local players." The organizers are convinced. "We believe that we can give back a little hope and confidence with our great program and that we will find fellow campaigners who will bring our city forward even more. We can do what others can do and we don't have to hide behind other municipalities," says the city's economic development department.
Samira Brächer, the new city manager, has already had numerous good discussions following the event, which show that the local stakeholders are interested in their city and are also prepared to look ahead with optimism. She is currently supporting the planning of a Christmas market event in Idar on the 2nd Saturday in Advent. There will be 3 Christmas markets in the two core areas alone this year.
On the 1st weekend of Advent, the Christmas market at the castle with shuttle service from the square on the Idar, on the 2nd weekend of Advent, the Christmas market on the market square in Oberstein and also on the 2nd Saturday of Advent, the Christmas market event in the pedestrian zone in Idar.
The numerous volunteers are looking forward to your visit, as the events only work if they are attended. We recommend using bus routes 803, 804 and 813, which continuously connect the two town centers, especially for the event on the 2nd Advent weekend.
