The route starts in the middle of the half-timbered idyll of Herrstein's historic town center - through the narrow alleyways, past beautifully renovated half-timbered houses, the church and the old town wall. Over a total of 9 kilometers, the route alternates between meadow paths and forest trails across extensive open spaces and through shady stream valleys. And time and again you stop to enjoy the view over the gently rolling hills.
During the guided hike, you will learn all kinds of interesting, curious and exciting facts about the Hunsrück, its people and nature, as the hiking guide knows the area like the back of his hand and has many stories to tell. Back in Herrstein, a culinary Hunsrück highlight awaits: Grandma's stuffed dumplings with bacon cream sauce and apple sauce. The crowning glory of a wonderful afternoon's hiking!
