The GS Göttschied is the only educational institution run by the town that is not an all-day school. However, flexible childcare has been offered there for almost 25 years. Liane Moosmann has been working as a childcare worker at GS Göttschied since 1999. Initially as a freelance employee financed by the support association, from 2015 as an employee of the municipal administration. "Liane Moosmann was the woman from the very beginning and helped to set up the afternoon care. Without her, this service would probably not even exist," emphasized Michael Schweizer, Head of the Youth Welfare Office. After initially offering childcare for one hour a day, parents can now book up to four hours of care. "This flexible offer is very much appreciated by parents," says Schweizer. This is why the afternoon care is currently attended by 72 children from GS Göttschied. They paint, play sports, do homework, organize leisure activities and much more. "I take my hat off to this performance and commitment," emphasized the head of the youth welfare office.
Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf also praised the achievements of the future pensioner: "This childcare service is very important for the education and development of children." And the challenges in this area have risen sharply in recent years. The mayor thanked Liane Moosmann for her work with a certificate and gifts and wished her all the best for the new phase of her life. Wolfgang Petry, Senior Civil Servant, and Susanne Becker, Chairwoman of the Staff Council, also joined in the thanks and good wishes.
"I loved working with the children," explained Liane Moosmann. She is always happy when she sees one of her current or former childcare children and receives positive feedback from them and their parents. "I have many wonderful memories from this time."
