As part of the "Kita eats better" initiative, the Nahbollenbach daycare center hosted a family health day, which was also attended by the Health Puppet Stage. To start the day, the children prepared a buffet together with healthy snacks made from fruit and vegetables, which were later eaten together. In three 45-minute performances, the actors from the health puppet theater playfully provided information about the food pyramid, the importance of food and drink choices and the importance of getting enough exercise.
A bouncy castle was also set up in the daycare center's multi-purpose hall for sporting activities, which the children enjoyed using during the breaks. A total of around 110 children took part in the health day. The daycare center team is delighted that parents also support the "Kita isst besser" initiative time and time again. The health day was supported by the Dr. Wolfgang and Anita Bürkle Foundation and Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld.
As one of 16 daycare centers in Rhineland-Palatinate, the Nahbollenbach daycare center is taking part in the current 2022/2023 coaching round of the "Kita isst besser" initiative. The coaching project for daycare centers, initiated by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, aims to lay the foundations for creating a sustainable, health-promoting diet.
