In just under two months, pupils can not only look forward to the 'big vacations', but also to the numerous interesting offers of the 2023 summer holiday program. As always, the Idar-Oberstein Youth Welfare Office, together with many cooperation partners, freelance artists and many volunteers, has put together an extensive range of one-day and multi-day activities. The vacation program is supported by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education, Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld and the Bürkle Foundation.
Under the motto "Where to go on vacation?", the vacation program offers children and young people from 6 to 18 years of age games, fun, sport, creativity and adventure - in other words "action" for every taste. The selection ranges from sporting and creative activities to varied excursions. Participants can register alone, in groups or with their friends and enjoy the vacation time together with others.
The vacation booklet, once again colorful and cheerfully designed by Bärbel Busch, is currently being distributed to elementary school and 5th and 6th grades of secondary schools throughout the district. It contains a registration form that can be sent by post or fax to the municipal youth welfare office or handed in there. It is of course more convenient to register online on the Internet portal set up especially for this purpose. But regardless of how the registration is received: at the end of June, all participants are randomly allocated to the individual activities and then receive a confirmation of participation.
All information about the summer holiday program can be found on the internet portal https://idar-oberstein.ferienprogramm-online.de, where online registration is also possible. The vacation booklet is also available as a PDF file on the municipal website www.idar-oberstein.de.
