The engineering firm Dr. Pecher AG from Mainz is currently working on behalf of the city to draw up a flood and heavy rainfall prevention concept for Idar-Oberstein. This precautionary measure is a joint municipal and private task, and the active and substantive participation of the population is an important component of this. Their experiences from past heavy rain and flood events are an extremely important source of information for the development of the precautionary concept. The office and administration therefore cordially invite interested citizens to take part in the district-specific site inspections.
Representatives of the engineering firm will briefly present the planned procedure at the meetings and incorporate the participants' suggestions into the inspection process. If images from past events are available, they can be brought along to the inspections or made available to the city administration. Those responsible are looking forward to active participation in the inspections and the support of the population.
Planned inspections in May
- Idar district: Thursday, May 11, 2023, meeting point at 10 a.m. at the Weiherschleife parking lot
- Algenrodt district: Tuesday, May 16, 2023, meeting point at 10 a.m. at the cemetery parking lot
- Tiefenstein district: Monday, 22 May 2023, meeting point at 10 am at the Stadenhalle parking lot
- Oberstein district: Tuesday, May 23, 2023, meeting point at 10 a.m. at the Stadthaus/ Göttenbach-Aula parking lot
