The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

Open day at fire station 1

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday with an extensive vehicle and equipment exhibition, "hands-on exercises" and numerous fire service-related activities. The recently commissioned new LF 20 from MAN with a fire department superstructure from Rosenbauer can also be admired. The evening program starts at 7.30 pm with live music from the rock band "Spätschicht", a surprise act and a cocktail bar.

Traditionally, the event continues on Sundays from 10 a.m. with a morning pint accompanied by the 1861 Idar-Oberstein Music Society. This is followed by a demonstration exercise by the youth fire department, and there are various activities especially for the little ones, such as crate stacking and face painting.

Great atmosphere, good food and drink, lots to see, lots to experience - regardless of the weather - the members of Fire Station 1 have gone all out and are looking forward to welcoming numerous visitors. Admission is free on both days of the event. Parking is signposted and is available at the former post office grounds at the fire station, at the indoor swimming pool and at the Idar-Oberstein town council.

A big thank you goes to the sponsors, including the companies Julius Haupt, Auto-Becker, SSS Energie und Netztechnik, Wolfgang Loch, Hahn Bau and OIE. The event is only possible on this scale thanks to the support of local companies. We would also like to thank the German Foundation for Commitment and Volunteering (DSEE), which supported the event as part of the funding program "Ehrenamt gewinnen. Bind commitment. Strengthening civil society.", which supports Fire Station 1 and the organization of the event.
