The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

Multi-generational project at the Nahbollenbach daycare center

The raised beds were assembled by the men from the Nahbollenbach open group. During a parent and child gardening day, they were then filled in layers with green waste, wood chips, horse manure and topsoil. Some of the parents not only donated materials, but also lent a hand with the children. During the gardening day, the old barefoot path at the daycare center was also cleared and the path was changed by digging up the turf. The path will then be refilled in another project. As a thank you for their efforts, all the helpers were invited to a barbecue at the end of the day.

Tomatoes, sugar snap peas, potatoes and sunflowers are already being grown in the raised beds. Of course, the current temperatures require regular watering. Here too, the men from the open group are on hand and - as they did last year - agreed to continue watering the beds during the daycare center's closing times.
