The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

EP release from Cat called Molly!

Cat called Molly! consists of the two Idar-Obersteiners Maurice (guitar and vocals) and Andreas (drums and vocals), they stand for indie rock with melodies that stay in your head. The two played at Salon Libertatia in Bad Sobernheim last year. This year they played at the 28th Hexenrock in Hettenrodt and are now releasing their first EP at JAM before their next appearance at Rock im Daal. The Idar-Oberstein band can't be pigeonholed with their music - the style varies from song to song. Fontaines D.C., Current Joys, Mac de Marco and the sound of the 60s are great sources of inspiration for the two musicians. Both are looking forward to another home game and clearly point out that it is very important here in the area that there are still places where live music is played and where people can develop and live out their creativity.

The progressive / green metal duo Ocerans Overdose from Trier, founded in 2021, will also be celebrating their debut show at JAM on June 30. Since their formation, the band has released an EP with five songs that clearly express where Oceans Overdose stand musically and in terms of content. Leon's intricate and sometimes dissonant guitar tracks are the supporting base for the clean, almost symphonic vocals and hard growled lyrics of Cat, who has also been making music as "Coco Blamed The Cat" for years as a singer/songwriter. As the band is currently still looking for reinforcements on bass and drums, the robust death metal beats and roaring low notes are pounded out live by a drum computer. This makes the music an explosive affair. In terms of content, the duo builds on the clear socio-political themes of their other projects: Oceans Overdose's green metal is a voice for climate justice and against all discrimination. All of the band's proceeds go to charities that support marine conservation, animal liberation, political education and the fight against climate change.

For the second time, Wait! Memories Are Fading Away! from Idar-Oberstein will be playing at JAM for the second time. Since April 2022, they have been experimenting in the border area between sound, video and text. The atmospheric, cross-media improvisations question the dichotomy of memory and forgetting. The band is currently on the anti-fascist music label Fiadh Production from New York, USA, which supports animal rights and animal welfare projects with its proceeds. Originating from parts of the post-rock band Regn from Idar-Oberstein, Wait! Memories Are Fading Away! plays an instrumental and dreamy ambient live, while the studio recordings are somewhere between post-black metal and melodic crust punk. Although still sketchy and raw, the paths drawn by the band form interesting trails through the dark forests of confrontations with ourselves and the world around us.

Admission is at 7 pm, the show starts at 8 pm at the Jugendtreff am Markt, Am Markt in Idar-Oberstein. Admission is 5 euros.
