34th Idar-Oberstein Old Town Run

The 34th Idar-Oberstein Old Town Run will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023. The first competition starts at 3.30 pm, the main run at 6.30 pm. Registration is still possible until June 18. The event is organized by the city youth welfare office in cooperation with the Idar-Oberstein city association of sports clubs and TV 1848 Oberstein.

The Altstadtlauf comprises a total of six competitions for different age groups, starting with the U8 (born between 2016 and 2019). They run a distance of 370 meters. The distances increase for each age group up to the main run, which is around 6.5 kilometers long. The route runs through the pedestrian zone below the Felsenkirche church, with the start and finish on Austraße, at the back of the Tourist Information Office. This year, however, the course will be reversed for races 2 to 6. It will first run through Austraße towards Otto-Decker-Straße and then from Gilsbachs Eck down the pedestrian zone to the market square.

Registration for the Altstadtlauf can only be made via the portal https://my.raceresult.com. The registration fee for adults is 5 euros, for children and young people 2.50 euros, children under 8 are free. Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, June 18, 2023; late registrations are not possible. This year, there will once again be an award ceremony on the Oberstein market square. The three fastest runners in each age group will receive their certificates. For the other participants, the certificates will be made available in the registration portal after the races.

The announcement for the Altstadtlauf is available on the city's website www.idar-oberstein.de.
