The road surfaces and paving will then be removed and the topsoil removed.
The first construction phase begins with work in the area of the Idarbach stream in the northern part of the square. Here, rows of seating steps made of ashlar stones in shell limestone and the associated steps will be laid along the course of the stream. In addition, armourstones are being laid along the banks of the Idarbach. Around 10 running meters of ashlar will be laid each day and this work will continue until around the beginning of September.
The city council is ensuring that the existing playground area with seesaw, sandpit and swings can still be used until the end of the summer vacations despite the construction work. Access is possible from the street Auf der Idar despite the construction fence.
