The photo shows a view of the meeting room. The rows of chairs for the council members are arranged in a semi-circle in ascending order. On the wall behind them is an installation showing the outline of the town of Idar-Oberstein with the coats of arms of the individual districts.

City puts further OZG services online

This concerns the registration, re-registration and deregistration of businesses based in the city of Idar-Oberstein, lost and found reports and applications for a permit to serve alcoholic beverages for an event (club picnic, funfair, shooting festival or similar) taking place in the city. These applications and notifications can now be completed conveniently from home on a PC or mobile device. A link to the relevant online form can be found in the citizen information system at www.idar-oberstein.de/bis/.

The Online Access Act (OZG) obliges federal, state and local authorities to offer their administrative services digitally and in a user-friendly way. Implementation is a mammoth task for public administrations, but processes are now gradually being put online. Authentication may be required to use the processes. Specifically, authentication is required for the registration, re-registration and deregistration of businesses, but a scanned ID card is sufficient for this. No authentication is required for lost and found reports or for applying for a permit. However, it is generally recommended to set up a Rhineland-Palatinate user account or a federal ID or to use the eID (online ID function of the ID card) to use OZG services.
