Enormous damage due to increased vandalism

Back in June, all the lights on the pedestrian bridge between Bahnhofstrasse and Weinsau were destroyed, as was a light on the stairs to Nahestrasse. Lights were also destroyed on the footpaths from the square Auf der Idar to Nahe-Haus and from the street Auf der Idar to the B422 connecting branch. In addition, one of the lights on the water area at Christuskirchplatz was ripped out, exposing power cables. An attempt was made to break into the parking machine at the Auf der Idar parking lot and one of the information pillars on Austraße was damaged. The barrier at the currently closed staircase at the Auf der Idar square has already been destroyed several times, and it is also clear from what has been left behind that this place is used as a meeting point.

The material damage caused by all these acts amounts to several thousand euros and of course the offenses are reported to the police. It is very regrettable that there are always contemporaries who damage or destroy public facilities and thus remove them from public use. In addition to the high cost of restoration, this always causes an enormous administrative burden.
