In front of the eyes, or rather ears, of the assembled Year 6 class and the jury - consisting of the school management, teachers, the school secretary and the student representative - the class winners gave their best. However, fluent reading alone was not enough to win. The first task was to present a young adult book of their choice, read out a meaningful passage and convey the mood of the story to the audience. This was a demanding task, which was made even more challenging in round two, when an unfamiliar and therefore unpracticed text was read aloud. The readers captivated their classmates and aroused great interest in numerous new stories.
In the end, Elias Alt from class 6a was able to prevail against his competitors and was crowned the school winner. The RS plus school is keeping its fingers crossed for Elias for the next round of the competition, the district competition, and wishes him lots of fun and success.
